Built on Real Numbers, Not Business Myths

Six years of analyzing Vietnamese business patterns taught us something surprising

Most financial advisors tell you what should work. We show you what actually does work, backed by analysis of over 1,200 businesses across Ha Long and northern Vietnam since 2019.

Started with a Spreadsheet Problem

Linh spent three months helping a family restaurant understand why their profits kept disappearing despite decent customer traffic. The owner had notebooks full of sales data but couldn't see the pattern. Turns out, their suppliers were quietly raising prices every few weeks, and nobody noticed until it became a crisis.

That restaurant is still running today. But the experience stuck with Linh. Small businesses in our region had plenty of data but no clear way to make sense of it. Banks offered generic advice. Consultants charged fees that made no sense for local businesses.

"Financial analysis shouldn't require a degree or a massive budget. It should just help you see what's actually happening in your business."

So in early 2019, NotelyList started as a part-time project. Just simple analysis tools for businesses in Quang Ninh province. The first clients were restaurant owners, small manufacturers, and retail shops around Ha Long. Word spread slowly but steadily.

By 2021, we were working with 89 businesses. By 2023, that number crossed 400. Today we analyze financial patterns for over 1,200 companies across northern Vietnam, from single-person operations to teams of fifty.

Recognition Came from Results, Not Marketing

We've never paid for awards or certifications. But analyzing over a thousand businesses does get noticed. In 2023, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce invited us to present findings on small business financial patterns at their Hanoi conference.

Same year, three business schools in the region asked to use our anonymized case studies for their finance courses. And the Quang Ninh Business Association featured our methodology in their quarterly publication.

  • Invited speaker at Vietnam Chamber of Commerce conference, March 2023
  • Case studies used in curriculum at three regional business programs
  • Featured methodology in Quang Ninh Business Review, August 2024
  • Consulting partner for Northern Vietnam Small Business Initiative since 2024
  • Regular contributor to Vietnamese financial analysis publications

The People Behind the Analysis

Small team. Deep experience. We've each spent years in the financial trenches before joining NotelyList. No generalists here.

Founder & Chief Financial Analyst

Started analyzing business finances after watching too many good businesses fail for fixable reasons. Worked in corporate accounting for four years but found it disconnected from real business challenges. Founded NotelyList in 2019 to bring practical financial analysis to businesses that couldn't afford big consulting firms. Still personally reviews every complex case that comes through.

How We Actually Work

No corporate mission statements here. Just the principles that guide every analysis we do.

Real Data Over Nice Stories

We've seen too many consultants tell business owners what they want to hear. Our job is showing you what your numbers actually say, even when it's uncomfortable. Sometimes the problem isn't your marketing or your location. Sometimes your costs are just too high and you need to face that.

Context Matters More Than Formulas

A restaurant in Ha Long tourist district has completely different financial patterns than a manufacturer in an industrial zone. We don't apply generic templates. Each analysis considers your specific situation, your industry norms, your local competition, and your actual business model.

Education Before Solutions

We could just hand you recommendations and collect our fee. But that doesn't help long-term. Every analysis includes explaining why the numbers tell the story they do. Our goal is making you better at understanding your own business, not making you dependent on us.

Accessible Without Being Simplistic

Financial analysis shouldn't require a finance degree to understand. But we also won't oversimplify complex situations. We explain things clearly while respecting that business owners are smart people who can handle nuanced information when it's presented well.

Want to Understand Your Numbers Better?

We're taking new clients for analysis starting autumn 2025. Initial consultation helps us both figure out if we're a good fit for your situation.
